As the Allstars and Liverpool have learnt recently, in the cup wanting it more is the key to victory. Phoenix have been a bit in flux recently so here is a chance to come together and show Virgin what we stand for. Play for each other and we get through to a Q/F versus the highly beatable Clissold Thistle.

You can do it boys,

Dens

The Wall is in charge as I’m in New York – he’s on 07795964283 – but as we have just 11 we can have no late comers!

Allstars vs Camden Athletic match report - MA Cup 2nd Rnd - 17th Feb

The Gower Allstars were humiliated in the MA Cup 2nd Rnd on Sunday, when a quick, fit and skilful Camden Athletic tore the Gowers midfield and defence apart on several occasions.

Gowers took an early lead through a good individual effort from Medley, but then sat back and relaxed far too much, and within 20 mins, Camden had equalised with a well worked goal that found the stand-in keeper in no-mans land.

Gowers were simply not at the races, and went in at HT lucky to be level at 1-1.

Confidence deteriorated in the Allstars camp, when Camden out-maneouvred and out-fought the Gowers midfield leading to a succession of one on ones with the Allstars defence, and eventually the deadlock was broken with a fine goal – crossed in from the left, just over the centre-backs heads, to find the striker running in, who volleyed in.

Gowers struggled to bounce back, mainly due to their lack of composure and passing inefficiency. It was so unusual to see the Gower Allstars fail to create any real chances, and it only led to more frustration amongst the team, forcing the play, with little success.

The game was sealed when Gowers pushed forward, and the defence were left with a 3 on 2, and a perfect cross to the far post was headed back across goal and into the net.

3-1 game over.

This was a mightily depressing game to be involved in – mainly because we didn’t look like our usual selves and that is now two weeks in a row, playing poorly. We lacked fight, desire and composure – all of which are absolute musts against Outback on Mar 2nd.

If we don’t wake up, and treat each and every one of these last 4 league games like Cup Finals, we will throw away this league title.

Every one of you needs to look in the mirror and ask yourselves how much this means to you, how much you want this, and whether you deserve to be champions. Theres no second chances, theres no room for error, you need to turn this round and give everything. Anything less ain’t good enough. Your team needs you.
